No one is trying to infringe on anyone's freedom of speech, just find a way to state your opinon without personal attacks and insults. There are standards of conduct in many facets of our lives, especially when dealing with other human beings, i.e., at your job, at school, your church, even in your home, otherwise it would be a free-for-all. Granted I think some of it is common sense, but some folks need it spelled out for them, thus, we have the Forum Rules, which IMO, aren't all that hard to abide by.

You want freedom of speech, make a sign and march on city hall. Or in your front yard. This place doesn't promise freedom of speech. Quite the contrary. It sets rules for how you are to conduct yourself. And if you don't follow them they restrict you, suspend you, or ban you. It's their site.

Too serious? Not my place to say  Brest Cancer is serious. Offending some one on this site is not. I mean no one has the RIGHT to be NOT OFFENDED. Some people act as if they have been raped or stabbed because some one else does not agree with their politics, sexual orientation, or the way they express them selves. What ever happened to freedom of speech?? I mean I don’t really know anyone personally on here and I really don’t care what anyone here thinks…well there are a few people who I have come to respect but other then them I don’t care. Yep, some people do take this whole thing way to serious. |

Freedom of speech is one thing....bashing others is another...and against the rules...it's just a lovely place for friends to visit, laugh, cry, support one another...and personally I feel it should be done in a respectable way...we have enough hatred int he world...isn't it nice to have a place to go where you know people DO care? Where did you get the idea that there were limits set on freedom of speech????????? As long as it does not endanger another human being you can say what you want..... Not on a privately owned site like this. The owners have the right to tell you that you cannot do certain things. |

I notice some people on here get bashed more than others because they have a slightly more radical few on topics. I think it should be just simply stated " I disagree, and this is why:..." Instead, alot of people will explain why the person that posted such and such is sick in the head etc, etc. That's not right.

And it would be a very boring place if people were always that respectful. I know the rules dont allow it, but some people actually do deserve a bashing. Not for their views, but just because they are arseholes. But these same arseholes also pretend they arent and cry out loudly when someone tells them about themselves. Many people seem to come online to get sunshine blown up their butt, but luckily, many people dont stand for all the false niceness that some people expect. OK, some people do get picked on for no reason too. Al;though my view is....get a back bone. |
