My intuition is enough strong to see upfromt that a breakup is coming.
So when i mentally prepare myself, i dont care so much how the news will
be served to me. Most of the times I start a normal conversation
explaining that we dont need to be together if we have major differences
about the understanding of the life. So each of us goes on his path. I
dissappear by the way I came.

Having been out of the dating game for such a long time while married I
can't remember any really bad break ups. BUT my ex did leave the
marriage in a not so fun way. His "new girlfiend" my at the time "best
friend" cooked dinner for all of us (our 3 kids included) because I had
not been feeling well. And then while he was "outside" she let me know
that he was actually going to our house to get his bags he had packed
and would be living with her from then on. That was not a good way to
end a relationship!

I would have prefered the 3 texts saying I divorce you lol

Wow Cherish that takes the cake! With your kids there and everything.
What happen to best friends being best friends! What a dirty rat.. I can
think of a 1000's things I would of liked to have done at that point but
probably would have just packed up my kids and left without a word. What
did you do?

Well I sat that completely dumbfounded for a few minutes because I mean
who expects that? Then I got the kids and we left that was the end of
it. The next night I took the few things he still had at the house and
left them on the door step. Then I just moved on, the kids had to come
first. They did get married, she has since kicked him out (they have
both cheated on each other). Right now they are in limbo as to getting
back together or staying apart.

They got what they wanted and found out it sucked. I got what I needed
just didn't know it at the time. Life is good now!

wow Cherish...sounds like my marriage...I always said..good luck with
the Loser...she took him off of my hands. Now I have been divorced for 9
wonderful years and couldn't be happier.
I got my divorce this way...I got a phone call at work...some lady told
me how beautiful my home was!! She went into details about my
bedroom---well I was happy to give her the ex...but I kept the
bedroom---so I came out the winner!! :)

how about on christmas eve..with the whole family around the
livingroom..he hands me a box and everyone gets excited when I opened it
there was a bracelet that said lets be friends
We had dated for 3 years and he thought that was the nice way to break
up....took the bracelet and flushed it down the toilet.

I agree flush the it down and if possible to shove him in flush him
also!

There are so many out that that are just not worth the time. I think I
new that everything was great when she called crying because "their
relationship with not going well". Yes she is crazy and believed that
the friendship would continue after all this. I told her point blank
you wanted him you got him deal with it and hung up.

Dam vixen, anyone that'd leave needs professional help!!
Candy, I have done that to a woman once, felt bad about it ever since
and it has now been about 4 years ago. I used to think about calling her
and explaining why (she was narried and started moving too much in my
directionj) but thought a total, clean break was best. Yes, I should
have told her but if I had, I probably wouldn't have been able to do it.

I broke it off with my last ex the exact same way candyfloss described.
I just completely ignored his calls, text messages, everything.

I had an engagement broken off by finding a dear john letter w/her ring
in the box, while i was inside where i worked , using the men's room.
Worst of it was, we'd been engaged for 7-8 months & Had known each other
for 20 yrs., we practically grew up together & had been through alot
together !!!!!!!!!!!!! Best part was i got the ring back & was able to
pawn it for beer money. If she ever came back looking for a second
chance, boy , would she get her payback !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although this has never happened to me (I swear!!), but one of my best
friends claim the worst way EVER to get dumped is to get dumped
immediately after having sex.

That HAS to be the epitome of "pathetic".

The worst way would be to show up in public... their job, the gym, the
Bar, etc with a date, then tell them its over!
