I know several people who are in LDR, and they seem to have worked at them and they are working wonderfully!!

I was in a LDR, which turned into a life long relationship...we now live together.

The one thing that I really love about getting to know someone from a distance is the time you spend talking...about anything and everything...if you can spend the time with emailing, talking on the phone, I think you get to know a lot about a person...

I also think that it is very necessary to meet in person just as soon as you can...I have known a couple of people who just did not present themselves as they said, and a quick face to face meeting took care of that...

I personally, had tried a couple of LDR, and as soon as I met the person face to face, most of my questions were answered...I feel the sooner people meet face to face and spend a few days together, the better.

I think that the great part of my relationship now is that we started the relationship with a strong friendship...the friendship is still there...along with the romantic and real love as well...

Until you meet the person, I would caution about the level of involvement or commitment people make in a LDR...

then that is just how I think about it and I could be wrong...

Long distance relationships require perfection on several levels...human=imperfect...so few work out for the long run.

There is no such thing as perfection.

Why Long Distance Relationships can work.

1) He can go out with the guys and she won't B*tch
She can go out with the girls and he won't whine

2) He can stock the fridge with beer & cold pizza
She can stock the fridge with yogurt and diet drinks

3) He can watch sports all day and night
She can watch TCL channel all day and night

4) He doesn't have to hear she doesn't have anything to wear
She doesn't care if he wears his baggy sweats all day

5) He doesn't have to hear her say "I have a headache"
She never gets headaches

6) He doesn't have to take out the garbage just because she wants him to
She doesn't have to wash his stinky clothes

7) He doesn't have to take her out to dinner at least once a week.
She doesn't have to cook his favorite meal every night.

8) He doesn't have to hear "Why did you buy THAT?"
She doesn't have to hear him say "You spent how much?"

9) He doesn't have to hear "Can't you put the lid down.
She doesn't have to hear "Did you use my razor"

And #10

He doesn't have to hear "You've been too tired for 4 nights.
She doesn't have to hear "Did you take the batteries out of the remote again?"
