it has been clogged for a week... I get very nauseous when i think about sticking my hand in it to remove the YUCK and pressin the lil red button doesnt work

stick your hand in there and pull the crap out...unplug it first...just for safeties sake probably something jamming the blades

Not lying when I say this! It's happened to me before. Fill the sink halfway up with water (if its clogged, it'll fill) and have at it with a plunger. It's worked multiple times for me.

there is a blade inside of the disposal...if you can get a long screw driver and loosen it up with the power off then turn on the power it might work....but be careful

Just use Drano. That's what it's advertised for. Always has worked like a charm for me. But, letting it go for a week? Dynamite might be the only solution now. Good luck with that.

1. The disposal came with a allen wrench type key that you can use to stick in the proper hole on the bottom or side of the disposal. This allows you to turn the thing back and forth till it moves again. 2. You probably dropped some metal down in the drain. Make sure the plug is pulled on the disposal and fish it out of there.(use rubber gloves) 3. No key?? take a broom handle..stick it in the drain and twirl the blades with it back and forth till it moves freely. Make sure and remove the junk that caused it and flush with lots of water before turning it on again.

Actually it depends what is stuck in it, one time I had actually I forget, but it would not run, I had to get an allen wrench and get underneath it and turn it so the stuff that was stuck would back itself out, then hit the reset button,,,and it worked like a charm...
