You can't choose between the two, they both contributed so much.

I tend to listen to Zeppelin albums a lot more than Hendrix, but Jimi left us with some phenomenal performances - sometimes I just HAVE to put my woodstock DVD on and crank up the volume. The man was a God.

The man was a God. Its not just that hendrix helped invent amps and effects pedals and helped invent the locking nut on the guitar Jimi page made a lot of studio brake throughs and made it so performers actually made money and he was much better educated than hendrix |

Ya just can`t choose. I know that I can`t.
I would also like to add Eric Clapton, and Jeff Beck to the list. Even with these four, I can`t make a decision. I could listen to any of them 24/7. |

Can I add Dave Gilmour to the list?

Robin Trower
S.R.V. Don't forget the 2 white Jimi Hendrix's |

you for real? hendrix. no contest.

Can I add Dave Gilmour to the list? I concur. Besides, Gilmour has an original Hendrix cross stitched strap on his black Strat, so there's a tie in. :-) |

Can't argue with Hendrix' influence, but I've always preferred Page's riffs and solos.

I'm a big zeppelin fan, but i am a BIG Hendrix fan, but it is pretty hard to choose who was actually better. Hendrix was more original and ground breaking.

hendrix puts jimi page to shame you said it. someone was listening to Jimi and said, "man, that's like heavy metal falling from the sky." that's where we got that saying. when i lived on a farm in ohio, i used to get up every morning and crank up "the star spangled banner" by Jimi. a great way to start the day. |

hendrix puts jimi page to shame I understand why you would say this, i kinda feel the same in a way, but if you listen to Page play it was mostly faultless, but if you listen to Hendrix closely you can spot many mistakes. Thats mainly due to the complexity of what he was doing and the fact he was making up a lot what he was playing on the spot. You cant really compare them, they are just different. |
