Thank True and Izzie! I'd be interested to look at it and see how it compares to flying expense. And if you can take a small dog along. Flying with her...ugg...did it once, NEVER again.

my daughter took it from chipley, fl to Jacksonville, Fl which is a five hour drive and it took her 16 hours to get there and then it took her 18 to get home, so no I dont recommend it to anyone.

Holy Cow!!! Why sooo long?? My best girlfriend lives in PA and we were trying to get her a ride to Birmingham AL. She had to go to Washington DC...all total would have taken 23 hours!

because if a freight train is coming, the amtrak has to pull to the side and wait, even if it takes hours. so that happened both ways for her

much less expensive, about the same as (maybe a bit more) a bus ticket.. but doesnt take as long.. and you can sometimes take dogs, but sometimes you have to sit in a seperate compartment than you normaly would...

thats not correct.. amtrack takes priority.. the freight trains are suposed to pull over for it.. you can look it up on the website.. its amtrak.com (you may wanna check my spelling..) it will give you estimated times.. the reason it takes so long sometimes is there are so many stops.. but the other trains are suposed to wait for amtrak
