I've taken it twice. Both times from Denver to Chicago. No problems either time. Had a sleeper car and slept like a baby. Of course, both times the train was incredibly late, but once you got on, it was smooth sailing. I also didn't like the fact that they close the dining car so early (it was 10pm) - no late night snacking.

Take Amtrak to Chicago for the holidays. I enjoy the view, the people and the room to stretch my legs and be comfortable. Plus, VERY close to the ground!!!
