Yeah. That's the pissy (so to speak) part of having cats. They'll do stuff that an instant and act like they don't know why you're pissed at them. So you sorta gotta play hardball with 'em.

That's another thing- NEVER spoil the kitten, as they'll think they can get away with murder. And it'll only get worse as they age, too.

Yeah. IF the kitty hasn't gotten clipped yet, he'll spray. Not only that, you tend to wanna get the kitty clipped at an age before it gets mature enough TO start spraying.
