Another pretty good correctional device are those compressed air sprayers computer geeks (like me ) use to blow dust out of their computers with. Cats HATE the noise of compressed air being forced through a small straw, and they'll freak out. Just be nearby with your can when kitty starts to feel the need to poop outside of the box again, and he'll clamp up in no time! Of course, you DO have to have been around when he does it, though.

He's probably spraying to mark "his" territory. That, or he might have a urinary tract infection. While the latter will probably require a trip to the vet's, the former just needs some correction on your part. And that's where those compressed air sprayers come in- they simply DO NOT like those things going "PSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHTTTTT!!!" right next to them.

That's the rub- you gotta be around to catch the little pee-factory in the act. And that can be a little bit harder than it seems.

Just be sure you hold his nose on his pee-spot before you relegate him to the utility room- that way, he'll (hopefully) equate being a bad kitty (with regard to the peeing in the house) to being punished.

Yeah. Keeping him in the litter box until he DOES decide to wee in there is another way to correct the cat. Maybe.

I didn't mean it that way- you keep the kitty in the box until he figures out he's supposed to do his business in there.

well hopefully he will learn his lesson or he will have to go. I cant handle that kinda stuff. Im tired of mopping my floor eveyday
