Well, if that makes someone sad than I urge them to contribute to programs that educate, cloth, house and look after the health and welfare of all those children who are born and abandoned or neglected.
Look into the numbers in your state. It's alarming how many children are in the care of foster homes or child protective services. Care about children being born? Step up and take care of the ones already here. When those children have adequate care talk to me again. |

Nebraska passed one of those safe haven laws, designed for teen mothers to be able to drop off infants at the hospital, no questions asked. To help prevent 'dumpster' babies.
Anyway, for some reason, they had trouble drafting it, so wrote it so that any minor could be dropped off. In the past few weeks, we have had a rash of people dropping off TEENS at the hospitals! Not the intent, by any means. The very same people who want to demand that everyone who gets pregnant are the ones who don't want to support the programs that help parents who can't make it, parents with kids out of control, parents who are losing the battle between trying to raise kids and work 2 or three jobs. Maybe everyone who votes against abortion should be required to take in these kids. Then maybe they will see the validity of people having the option of not continuing pregnancies when they are barely surviving as it is. |
