It all depends on whether or not you like the person enough to TRY. If you don't think it's going to work, then it's time to move on.

In my past life (translation: when I was married) a long, long, long (do you get the idea?) time...
Today? If things weren't right, I doubt I'd stay very long... I'm not playing games and I'm finally fully aware that I can't fix things by myself. It takes 2 people giving 100% and if they aren't both interested in doing that...well, I'd probably have to be gone. |

I tried for 14 yrs, before I left. You can never ever say you didn't give it your all then. I too tried for a lot of years.....but sometimes there is just no fixing it. I regret not having some of those years of my life back really, but I do feel that at least I gave it my all. My biggest motivator was my kids. I'll always feel bad about not being able to keep them in a 2 parent home. |

not right in your relationship how long would you stay in it to see if it would get better? people will stay in dysfunctional relationships for their entire lives just because it is the known and as dysfunctional as it is, it's comfortable and not as scary as going off on your own |

Depends what is wrong, if it can be fixed I would stay and at least try to fix them

It depends on what needed "fixing" if it was commuinication and he was willing, yes I'd stay to if it would work. If he shows signs of being abusive, jealous, possessive or is into drugs.....I'm OUTTA there!
