ok lets see price of a gallon of cows milk $3.00. what would the going rate be for a gallon breast milk $???? I think it would cost more to keep women pumping out milk than it does to keep cows doing it. And how well does the woman eat? Does she take any meds? Does she have AIDS? All of these things affect the quality of the breast milk. |

I'm not certain on this but doesn't a woman's body only produce breast milk when she is pregnant? If that is the case would they not, then be taking the milk that should go to the woman's child? Wouldn't that also mean the woman would have to constantly be pregnant? and......human breast milk....ice cream....ewww I just can't picture that, it doesn't even sound tasty lol |

I am a PETA supporter...People Eating Tasty Animals, that is.
Sorry...I do believe in eating animals. I DO NOT believe in testing, cruelty, or hunting for sport or luxury. Seriously, my breast milk drinking days are over! |

Animals are not OURS to eat Animals are not OURS to wear Animals are not OURS to experiment on Animals are not OURS to use for entertainment Animals are not OURS to abuse in any way ..while at face value the letter may seem over the top and bordering on the rediculous..if one really believes the above mandates of PETA..then the letter makes sense, the dairy industry is a just that, cows..living, breathing creatures are a commodity treated no differently than just another piece of machinery... Ben and Jerrys claim to be animal friendly amongst other things, if they are, really, then they will take the letter seriously...wonder how many will rush to buy MOMS VANILLA ICECREAM..?? Actually we are here to eat animals, it is called the Food chain and we happen to be on Top of it. But Animals Do eat people on Occaision. But I agree with you on the Entertainment, Experiment and Abuse, they are not here for that. Well with an attitude like that I hope no species ever comes along more powerful then us that feels the same as you . . . . |

Im glad to see people feel that animals arnt to be tortured and abused, that is good to see.
. Little tidbit of info here. Cows when separated from there caves will cry, moan bleet and show every sign of distress a human mother would . . . For a cow to produce milk she must be impregnated at least once a year. The baby cow is either killed or raised as veal, trapped in a cage not big enough to stand up in . . . many times within sight of the mother. Cows can live to be 25-30 years old, but milk cows rarely live past the age of 7, many die before there 5th birthday of over taxation from being hooked up to machines for the vast time of there lives, being fed drugs to increase production and just plain neglected. A cow with lesions and tumors continues to produce milk regardless of the health issues of there sickness, no FDA rules exist to keep producers from ignoring such painful ailments, it goes untreated to maximize profits. . . I drink almond milk. It tastes very close to the 2% I drank before I witnessed the horrors of factory farms. Soy milk on the other hand is gross . . . I have no issue with animals that are not mistreated, sadly the capitalist system that only cares about maximizing profits doesn't work like that. If I where a cow . . . id rather be butchered, at least it would be over relatively fast, I would just hope the guy doing it was a good shot or cut my head off quickly . . . . sadly that is not always the case either. Its not really a clear cut issue, I think many of the people here that abhor mistreatment and abuse of animals might open there eyes a bit and look at the facts of the system. I think your heart may lead you where mine did. . . . or maybe not. |

bergeia thank you for your honestly, I have hunted, I enjoyed it. I did my best to make it quick . . I passed up many a maybe shot . . . I felt after a time that guns made it a simple thing to kill . . . i started bow hunting . . . then I felt that my intelligence made it a simple thing to do . . . then I started to see things that made me believe all life is equally sacred . . . Trust me I miss a good steak, but not that much really. I can cook some amazing food that you would be surprised has no animal product in it . . . taste is an extremely shallow reason to kill . . . especially when that very same intelligence gives us healthier ways that don't have to taste bad to live . . If I had to survive I would . . . I will not lie . . I wouldn't begrudge anyone that had to make that choice. I was raised in a very poor family . . . there was no choice really, my grandfather had to . . . or the family wouldn't be here . . . my father worked extremely hard to pull us out, but it didn't happen over night and many a squirrel stew and many a deer steak crossed the table.
Now I am vegetarian. I think the Hindu's and Buddhist have it right. . . . do no harm, create no pain, cause no distress in any living creature. If any creature on this earth deserves its suffering . . . well . . . you know what I was going to say. ____________ Edit Oh yea since I became a vegetarian my bad cholesterol is near 0 my blood pressure has gone down 10 points from being hypertension ect. I have actually gain muscle becuase I feel better and work out more. . . I do not lack protein plenty to be had if your smart. BTW many of Peta are crazy . . I do not endorse them . . I do sympathize with what they are trying to do, I just don't agree with there tactics. |
