I Have a 88 Buick Century 3.8 V6. the Problem I'm Having is it Used to Run then Quit but Could Be re-Started and Progressed to Running Fine until I Shut it off then it takes about 4-5 Hours to cool down enough to start. Now it Won't Start at all, the Original Ignition Module was Bad so I replaced it and Thought the New One was Bad so I Replaced it. but it Won't Stay Running. it Runs for a Few Minutes then Stops and Won't Re-Start. I Wondering if Maybe the Cam or Crank Position Senors are Bad I Know the TPS isn't Working Properly and am Wondering if that Might be the Cause of My Problems? any Help would be Greatly Appreciated.

I used to have that same engine. It would heat up to a certain temp and would not restart until it sat forever or I bump started it. It was suggested that the starter was too close to the exhaust manifold(design error)and that a heat shield there might solve the problem. Never tried it before I sold the car and bought a toyota...Good Luckflowerforyou

Actually the day I took the car to him he told me his life story and how many kids he had blah blah blah frustrated and I couldn't get out of there fast enough...so yeah he's still up for grabs

ok....if the car is dying after running for awhile
I would start with the fuel system.
I.E. replace your fuel filter....start there!!!
also if you have a csk or advance auto nearby take your car there and they can check your computer codes ........usually for free......
and tell you what it is.
the exhaust is not your problem......

Could be a relay problem, fuel injection or pump! It started off as a heat related problem and now what ever it is just crapped out. check your relays for fuel injection and pump. . . . . .I have seen a cps do that just to let you know.

Find a good mechanic with a scanner & ck the trouble codes. Can't tell the players w/o a score card.

Check the timing sensor, it's either at the flywheel or the front pulley. When these go bad they work intermittently and will drive you crazy.
