I think there is a misunderstanding of expectations, goals and standards here.... ^^ As do I. Am I the only one seeing a pattern here? Expectations HIGH = Disappointment Expectations LOW = Disappointment Hmmmm.... |

It's a funny thing about life; if you refuse to accept anything but the best, you often get it.

My expectations are almost nonexistent, and I'm generally happier. I will note that others I know who keep their expectations high are often disappointed and angry. yours in Chaos, Scarlett

...set their expections so high? And then they become disappointed and perhaps angry if their wishes aren't quite granted. I've got high hopes I've got high hopes Oops there goes another rubber tree plant |

I think the dating site thing is all about math. When you first sign up, you think, "Wow, now I have access to millions of people I would never have known about before!"
But then it turns out all the good ones are 897,000 miles away. See? More math. |

I think there is a misunderstanding of expectations, goals and standards here.... I think you are right! I have no expectations of others (i.e., I'm not out to change other people) but I have high expectations for myself and for good things to happen in my life. Think big, good and well and that usually manifests itself...just not always in a way you could have imagined or tried to manufacture. Life is full of great surprises! |

When someone cuts you off after 2years of friendship/relationship with out any real reason. There are expectations from that person to explain what is going on. They become part of your family. But if that is what they want,,, thats what they want.

I guess coming close to death a few times has made me more acceptable of things as they are. I am in no way ready to let someone bring me down, but I don't expect more then they are able to do or be. My victory in life has been to still be on this earth breathing. At one time, I had seen some much death and destruction, that I had to soul search to figure out why I should not give up. Being that close to death was not my choice, but to look at things in a new was for survival. The material things mean much less, but the value of life means more. Some people are just moments in time, you have appreciate those around you.

I don't expect more then they are able to do or be.....you have appreciate those around you. ^^ Thank you...truly...thank you for this post! I often ask myself...am I worthy of fulfilling the same things I expect from others, or am I just asking/expecting what I WANT from Santa Claus? I'm human...I admit it...I fall short, waaay short at times...it's called "HUMAN CONDITION". |
