Well.....I'm flooded all to heck!!! See my picture???? Water in my shop and house up to where my hand is on the side of that 4X8 piece of plywood......lost everything that I tried to save from the Hurricane Rita flood 3 years ago!!!!

I think they might make me tear down my house and build up this time!!!!

Oh well.....such is life on the beautiful Gulf Coast........

How did everyone else do???????

Gosh, DFW was unscathed, didn't have happen what they expected. I'm sorry you had so much strife in your area. So many effected by that hurricane!! So much devastation.

I don't know what you mean about seeing your picture. Looks like the same photo you always have, so what am I missing?

Hope all goes better SOON!! drinker

My neighbor across the street has built his new home up on a 12 foot pile of dirt!!! His is like a fortress now except that his house is up so high that now the wind will get it full force!! LOL......darned if you do and darned if you don't.....I'll probably have to raise MY house too....but being on a slab......It just means tearing down what's there and building new.....on a man made hill......

One of my friends down by the coast came home and THEIR house was just GONE!!!!! It floated off somewhere.......they can't find it!!!

I evacuated to Athens, Texas in my travel trailer and the eye came between me and Tyler, so I know it wasn't too bad by the time it got there.

I was just describing how deep the water got in my shop.......not quite 4 feet.....my left hand is on that piece of plywood laid on it's side inside my shop......

It seems no matter where we choose to live or end up, there's always some risk!! I wonder if there IS any eden-like place, no flood, hurricane, tornado, quake, sink holes, tsunami, anything!!

It is so sad to see that devastation and it's so munumental, it's dumbfounding for the brain. I don't know HOW folks cope and rebuild, but I guess that is human nature to do it!!

God bless you and your wife!!
