I Write

I write for understanding
For me mainly
But my words are lost
On deaf ears
By minds more entranced by
Pictures in a book
Quick captions about my look
I detail my longings
What I wish to receive
I send letters to emails
They're quite clever I think
But generic responses feel like
Shopping at Walmart
Looking for the blue light special


Finally a personal response
Of one man's desires and interest
Politely written he inquires about
A future with me, full of eloquence
He asks about my family and friends
So sensitive that my mind snaps
To attention, straightens my spine
I stand taller, buoyed by his words
And then one comment stops me
Dead in my tracks. He wrote

"I really believe when our creator
thought of beauty, He saw only you"

My heart soars then wonders
Is this a pick up line? sublime
Was it sent to others?
I'm brought back to earth
As days pass and no letter arrives
No phone call either
Perhaps another angelface
Took my place before the
Possibility of we could
Manifest - only in my mind

So back to simple answers
What's up?, How ya doing?
Great pics, I'm done spewing
About hopes and dreams
Because nothing ever seems
Real anymore and I'm tired
Of keeping score because
Zero is a lonely number
And words disappear with a
Simple click of the wrist
And with a quick twist
My emotions remained bottled
Waiting to be opened when
The time is right, not wrong
Someone to complete my song.

Well Pam, I would never throw you a pick up line, but I do believe what he said is true, you are a beautiful woman. Simply put. In every aspect of the word. From head to toe, personality and spunk, you have the beauty of a rainbow, the cheeriness of a baby's smile, the glow of an angel and above all else, the smarts of a wonderful woman.

Not all songs are duets. The Lakota actually do have their individual song - hmmmm, I never really thought about this before but it does make sense. Marc doesn't complete my song, he enhances and compliments it. Our differences and our similarities create a new harmony and the duet has a life of its own, but you can still hear the individual songs in the background. This is what I wish for you, lovely lady!

To write for ourselves is where we should be. Our words even though at times are read they are not always forgotten. For you see those words at times touch a heart and resurface later when they are needed.

Words that others say to us that catches our eyes as those that will be etched within our memories. They will not only make you smile but make your steps seem lighter.

Words are the most powerful thing in this world!! They can make you feel as if your on cloud 9 at one moment and the depths of Hell the next. Savor the words that touch your heart. Whenever you need a smile they will still be within.

Thanks Angel, I do have my own song and if I find someone to hum along great. Let's say I use creative license because the words rhymed. But have I found someone that had his own song written, probably not.
