I'm not who I was yesterday; I've never been able to just "be" somebody. I had a friend tell me once he's known 50 of me and loved every one of them. It ain't by choice; it's just the way I am.

If you really know the people you are chatting with on line..I mean I am sure we all have shared pics and talked on the phone, but do you really ever wonder if they are who they say they are???? Of course..if you didn't you'd be stupid...

I come with a warning label and everything. I am a huge flirt and I tell people what I think. I tell people that I type exactly what I would say because I can type 70 words a min so I can pretty much get it all down. I think that I am who I say I am. Whats the point of being fake anyway. If you connect on here they will want to meet you and you them, then what? Opps you changed overnite? It wouldnt last past the first date. So true!

Yes, you are never the same person you were the day before, and the huge life changes make you someone else... but... that is not to say there is not the base of you still there. That is what I look for and that is what I want.

back to the topic i'm often told by a negetive person that people on here are just lying making up a fake life.I choose to believe that at least some of the people are good people that just happen to have time to come on here good plan of thought there, same here. cheers

I guess it depends on the person. Some people do pretend to be other people online, for whatever reason. And some people lack social skills in "real life," however they are able to be outgoing and expansive online, because there is less pressure. Most people who say they've fell in love online were taken in by the personality the other person presented to them; in person, you have other factors that might hide that from you- physical appearance, etc. Therefore, it wouldn't be surprising if the "wild, carefree man" you met online isn't that way in person, the internet provides a barrier in some ways and lets down some barriers in others. I'm not always the same in person as I am online, for the good or the bad.

well the thing about online is, if someone tells you in a nonjoking way this is who i am,well you kinda have to take their word for it.

There are A LOT of fake profiles on this site. LOADS! many of them are obvious too, though i still see many seasoned posters falling for it every time. I guess i am just a very suspicious person online and try not to be fooled. Some of the fakes jump out at me, but i am sure there are also profiles amongst us that are harder to spot. Id bet money on there being an 'oldie' or two that is also fake. Just cos someone has been around forever doesnt mean anything if they have never proved they are real.

Just cos someone has been around forever doesnt mean anything if they have never proved they are real. very true. some people are very good at pretending to be someone else- like oscar quality acting, lol. and then some people just lie about who they are. why? because it's easy to do online, it's thrilling to know you got away with it and tricked people, the chances of being caught are slim to none, and usually their relationships in the "real world" are crappy so they escape online to be someone else and in a way, have a better life. i have known people like that. it does happen.
