Spread your wings and fly he said
I haven't got any I muttered
Close your eyes and look deep inside
Your wings are there
Hidden beneath all of your despair
Push it aside
Just spread your wings and fly
Wings I muttered you must be crazy
I'm no angel
I'm no fairy
Just a gurl who's contrary
Glowering at him
I stomp away in my clunky boots
Muttering all the while
Wings are so not my style
Later that day
Alone in my room
I think about what he said
Wings I grumble
But what if
What if
What if..he's right??
I close my eyes
Looking deep inside
To my surprise
I see wings
Hidden beneath my despair
Shoving and pushing it away
I giggle with glee
Trying my wings on
Preening about
I give a joyful shout
I rush to the window
Throwing it open
Leaping through
Into the warm air
Spreading my wings
Taking flight
I fly past his window
He smiles with delight
As he watches me
Go on with my destiny's flight....
