I am new to the online dating/friends/chatting world and I am just trying to figure out if I am doing something wrong. I posted a picture and gave a bit of information about myself but yet I hardly get anyone to say anything. I mean some check out my profile but never leave messages. I'm like duhhh, some communication would be nice. Anyway, if anybody has any suggestions plz don't hesitate to pass them on. Thanks!!!

I've found that the only way to get noticed around here is to post in the forums a LOT -- when I first signed up, I tried sending out a few e-mails to some local people and never got a single reply -- and I'm a published author, so it's not like I don't know how to write an e-mail -- but once I had established myself in the forums, I started getting lots of profile views and lots of e-mails.

I should warn you that, in my experience, Illinois is something of a dead zone here -- there are lots of locals on the site but I have had no luck whatsoever in trying to communicate with any of them. I don't even bother sending out first e-mails anymore -- it's a total waste of time. The e-mails I do get are all from people 897,000 miles away!

I'm hoping you'll have better luck than I did!

Thanks for replying, I will try and start posting more in the forums. It just seems so strange to me that if you are looking for someone but never leave messages or respond to them. I'm just tired of all of the shenanigans, I’m looking for some people to hang out with and have a ball. Add on to my real life friend list .

I find you get emailed once or twice then get blown off. Dont let it bother you when its meant to be..........
