Lex said it best when he said don't argue with the de evolution of society. Let them become darwin awards recipients. I agree.

Thank you, sir.

This is my thinking on the subject -- I'm here to communicate with people. In the end, whether that means making friends or finding a girlfriend (yeah, right!) or just conning people into buying books, it's all about the communication.

OK, so it turns out there are some people who are capable of communicating on the required level, and others who apparently are not. It's not my job to teach anybody how to use words. Don't get me wrong -- if asked, I will generally help out with that sort of thing -- one of my best friends on the site asked me to help her with a writing project earlier this evening. No problem.

But, at the same time, I don't want to waste a lot of energy dealing with people who just don't get it. That's really the main reason I don't use MySpace anymore (aside from all the spam, the band spam, the spand bam, the spad ban, etc.) -- there just wasn't anybody there I felt I was communicating with. Or was ever going to.

So why stress over it? Nobody is compatible with everybody, when you get right down to it. I'm not here to be "liked" -- if you like me, fine; if not, well, I can understand that. I'm not the most likable guy, and I'm OK with that. Like Kerry Wood says, it is what it is.

So, there are people I really just don't deal with here. That doesn't make them bad people. It just means that, for whatever reason, I've come to the conclusion that there just isn't going to be any kind of meaningful interaction there. And I'd rather deal with the ones who understand what I'm saying.
