Topic: How much is missing? | |

Wheezer, My Faith is far stronger than many would believe. I walk a fine
line of spirituality that most would think is not possible. My belief in the bible is as strong as any and as a result I search for more. Common sense and the teachings tell us that prophets still walk this earth and that the teachings they offer should be discussed and prayed about. Common sense and the teachings also tell me that these same prophets carry scriptures from the past to teach us in the latter days. It is said many times in the Bible that in the latter days the words sealed away will be given to man to learn more. These words will only be Unsealed in the Latter days. I ask you and anyone else reading this post to deny these facts and stand with Proper supporting evidence that the tomes being offered today in these latter days are Not the word of God. If you are one of those who Deny that such tomes as these could exist I am wasting my time, however if you have not taken the time to read some of these tomes because you have been told they are a heretics rantings, maybe you should read them. Several are worth the time and the feeling inside becomes stronger as I pray as to the validity of them. Faith is a far more powerful thing when the knowledge gained is used for peaceful purposes and in peaceful ways. In my reading and interpretations I become closer to the path I wish to walk and am closer to his teachings. Only in this way can my questions be answered, Food for thought is my number one priority in seeking knowledge and his teachings. G |

no man should add or take away from the bible, so I'd say it's not for
man to choose if genesis or anyother book were to be removed. |
|
|
|
the bible also states to be wary of false prophets increasing in numbers
in the end times |

i dont know how much is missing or if anything is but you set down and
really study it from the beginning everything thats it said was going to happen has happen up to this point, now how can you argue with that, do we just set back til the end of time an say oh gosh i geuss it was right, or do we take a chance now and do what it says, or do we toss it aside just like any other book, thats the question everyone must ask them self. as for me i believe it, and everyone has a right to believe what they want, intresting this world and how it evolved and everything isnt it |

Hey gryph, I think maybe you misunderstood or I didn't make myself
clear....I absolutely believe that profits are walking this earth......and a whole lot more that operate in the gift of "prophecy". The only thing about that is prophecy never supercedes the word of God, it has to line up, and not contradict the scriptures. I would love to read these tomes you speak of....please tell me where to find them. |

Well Fedman, many passages have already been removed from the Bible as I
listed in earlier posts. Since the compilation of the King James Bible there are a number of edits to it. Passages have been reworded/edited and even removed. If you read the info I posted earlier you would see this as fact not a belief. As I stated in a previous post also it is quite possible we are in the Latter Days, and in as much the Tomes I speak of have been public for quite some time. The Dead Sea Scrolls, The Book of Mormon, The Pearl of Great Price, only to name a few. Ancient texts whether proven to be of the days of old or not give enlightenment to all who read them. I would Imagine that one or two more Tomes will be unearthed before the return occurs. I have been reading from time to time these books and as far as I can see they do Not contradict the teachings of Christ and in as much I will continue to read them until I see otherwise. I will also be adding several more pieces of reading material that I have gathered during research of this post. Books that did not make it to the King James version we have today are also on this list. I will be searching for older versions of this bible to verify some conjecture I have been reading about. G |

Thanks Gryphyn, I'm interested and will check it out when I have some
more time. Just another point, though I can't prove it at the moment. I read somewhere, years ago, before internet that much of what was removed by King James was related to women. His reasons apparently were that he did not believe that any woman should be held above a man - there were some reasons given that escape me right now. So he took our words, prases, whole passages that gave woman any part role in making the bible or it's history. This is somehting I need to research for the 1st time on-line. I love the internet, makes the library obsolete. |

lots are missing. mostly, its collaborating evidence, other acounts,
ect. good reading to be sure. i like the one where jesus makes the throne wider because his father made it too narrow.... |

You could relate that parable in several ways, I like to think it
relates to walking a Narrow Path and to keep a clear point of view on the reason to walk it as it is. G |

God's "word" is only in the 1st 5 books of the bible. Half of that to be
exact. God gave Moses a copy of these books, Moses broke them, and the angels dictated the 2nd copy to Moses. Thus, there are often 2 versions of the same story throughout the first 5 books. After that, its no longer "God's Word". Its a collection of material beleived to be divinely inspired, and divinely important. So, when Paul writes how he thinks women should dress in church, HE is talking, its not "Gods" word. When John is writing his vision of the Beast, its HIS word, not God's word. This is very very important. We should not base our worship on what Paul thinks love is like. We should not bet our souls on what Matthew, Mark, John and Luke thought they remembered... Taken in that context, it doesnt really "matter" what books of the bible have been editted, which ones were dropped from cannon, and which ones were 'added'. So long as they hold scriptual value, and insight, then they are valuable. I personally would vote for the re-inclusion of "The Book of Enoch", "The Book of Thomas", and a couple others. I also dont think that there was a 'secret agenda' or 'DaVinci-Code like-conspiracy'. The written record is clear enough - there were political turf-battles over which books were considered 'cannon'. Sure, Constantine lined up his allies along the lines of which would best suit his political aims, and so, those Bishops are the ones who championed which "5" of the gospels were considered "cannon". |

fedman i think the verse you are talkin about is in revelation chapter
22 verse 18 check it out makes me wonder what happened to the man who took the books out of the bible because they didnt thing they were appropiate or biblical what do you think. the books are called apocrypha 1 esdras 2 esdras tobit judith additions to esther wisdom of solomon ecclesiasticus baruch letter of jeremiah prayer of azariah susanna bel and the dragon prayer of manasseh 1 maccabees 2 maccabees now they say that these were listed under the westminster confession (1643)states that the books commonly called apocrypha not being of divine inspiration are no part of the canon of scripture and there fore are of no authority in the church of god or to be any other writing . so when we say that the use of adding or taking away is bad who has this right to take away these verses an books if we do not understand what god has for us in the verses evenly does it give us the right to take it out remember revelation chapter 22 verse 18 kinda scary right it says ( for i testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall add unto these things, god shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book.) what do youall think i am curious about this one. |
