MOS. Also where can I find more information on your court martial for
refusing to go to Iraq. I did a google search and found nothing in the

Just a word of caution for those that might be thinking that the war
would end if noone volunteered...

All that would succeed in doing is GETTING the draft reinstated in order
to keep our army . Also what a lot of people do not know. Once you
volunteer and go in? the gov. doe snot care what your ets date is.
Most soldiers do not even realize that the acronymn stands for ESTIMATED
time of seperation. If something is going on (like Iraq) and congress
wants to they can initiate what is called a stop law (or loss). what
this does is prevents any and all changes of duty station, and any and
all sperations AS DICTATED BY CONGRESS for up to somethign like 90
days. Then at the end of those 90 days, they simply reinstate it for
another 90 days. All of a sudden the person who vlunteered for 8 years
of readiness is looking at 9 and 10 years instead. And there is nothing
they can do about it.

It takes far more than that daniel. first they have to make a
decleration of war, and seek congressional approval. They had that
problem in Vietnam. You make everything sound simple when it isnt quite
that simple.

no fanta they do not have to declare war. I was hit with the stop law
when I went to the Balkains. And i had several friends whose ets was
delayed because of it also. And to the best of my knowledge we never
declared war in Bosnia.

Also, after we declared an end to the war in Iraq (official end anyway
not realistic) the were still people being hit with the stop law in
order to keep them over in Iraq.

Now yes, you ARE right that it does nothappen at the wave of a hand. I
am not trying to say it does. But it IS possible to happen.
