With all of the threads about the up and coming election, I like to get the opinions of the people rather than read the news about it all (especially since the news only tells you what THEY want you to hear)
Who else honestly thinks this 2008 election is a joke? It almost seems like the circus is in town. I really don't think the country is ready for this. *crouches and prepares for the feedback* |

The only way for this to not be a joke is if the party leaders are not picked by the party, but by the people. I am talking a direct vote, not this crappy craziness that is the presidential primaries. Allow everyone to vote once, they can vote dem or repub for 1 candidate. Let the dem and rep winner of each of these be the candidates. With the system we currently have, all we are gonna get to vote for is rebuplicrats. They wont nominate anyone else.
