I'm going into nursing an wanted to know...what is it really like? I wanna be a critical nurse an work in the ER. Is it really what it looks like on TV? Got any stories you wanna share?

I am an X-ray student so I know what its like a little bit. There is one major flaw in the TV shows though.....they all hang the x-rays the wrong way!!! lol

I have been a nurse for almost 20 years and is not like tv!!
I laugh at ER I can say this as a nurse you can try several types of job in the nursing field until ypu find the one right for you |

read how to survive and maybea even love nursing school get it on amazon And do your prerequisites FIRST

i'v been a labor and delivery nurse for 25 years...very stressful, but i love it!!!!!!!!!!
nothing is like on tv- could write a book--- there are several days you head home and do not want dinner--just some alcohol! lol |

I have done from ER to now disability case management.
I burned out from er but i love case management my favorite is work comp at this time. that is cool thing about nursing you can do so many things I cannot do PEDs I would be crying with the parents!! |
