shows how desperate he is for the womens vote laugh

I can see how one would think so, I thought the same for a moment, but then I got to thinking about it and I like this decision. If Obama with very few experience can run for president with an experienced VP pick, why can't McCain as a very experienced candidate for the presidency, pick an inexperienced GOVERNOR as his VP? True he is playing to the women, but on the other hand, he is also making history with this pick... well if he wins he would.

Personally I'm all for Bob Barr, the Libertarian Candidate. That's the guy I'm voting for.

I think she is a good pick. She kind of has this thing about wanting to stop corruption in politics.

At a press conference today, Sarah Palin says she used to be a UNION member and how proud she was of her husband TODD PALIN and the he is a card carrying member of the STEELWORKERS UNION.

Here is the press release from the Steelworkers:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CONTACT:

Wayne Ranick
(412) 562-2444 or

901-8442 (c)
August 29, 2008

Statement by USW International president Leo W. Gerard on John McCain’s selection of Sara Palin as his running mate:

"It is important to realize that while the governor’s husband is a member of a union, this does not automatically qualify her for an on-the-job training program to become a heartbeat away from the presidency. And while her husband is one of 850,000 dues-paying members of the steelworkers union, it does nothing to absolve Sen. McCain of his long history of anti-union sentiment and anti-worker actions, including continuously pushing an anti-working family agenda that:

*Opposes giving workers the right to bargain collectively;

*Jeopardizes retirement security by privatizing social security;

*Further threatens job security by signing more job-stealing trade deals without the regard to human rights and environmental abuses; and,

*Erodes the ability of working families to secure quality health care by taxing their employer -provided coverage for both active and retired workers.

McCain’s choice is another example of his poor judgment and his desire to play politics as usual. McCain-Palin is not a team that works for working families. The first-term governor’s record is thin and divisive. And John McCain has a life-long record of being for the rich and powerful. No union card can hide that any more than Ronald Regan's union card did."

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING SARAH FORGOT TO MENTION WAS THAT HER HUSBAND, TODD PALIN, IS NOT A REPUBLICAN!!!!!

What I find interesting is that we have a black man and a woman running for President/VP and one of them will end up in office. surprised

Unless of course one of the independents gets on enough state ballots and enough tv ads to be taken seriously

rofl grumble :angry:

I want a serious candidate from the business sector with more polish than Perot. flowerforyou

isnt it a shame we have not yet learned that the best way to vote fairly is just to assign numbers for these people and read what their pros and cons are about our USA then vote that way...guess the press would have a hard time earning any money. WHy does it have to be about sex, race and religion?

She's a great choice...she's like one of us...normal everyday American who doesn't want to comprimise their values for job protection.

But the 44-year-old Palin, who was selected as Sen. John McCain’s running mate today, is now the focus of her own state ethics investigation as part of the so-called “Troopergate” scandal, a bizarre controversy involving the firing of a state police chief and his reluctance to fire an Alaska state trooper, Palin’s former brother-in-law who has been involved in a bitter custody fight with her younger sister.

Just two weeks ago, Palin revealed an audio recording of an aide pressuring the state’s Public Safety Department to fire trooper Mike Wooten, the Anchorage Daily News reported.

Palin also acknowledged that her staff had contacted Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan about two dozen times about Wooten. Monegan himself was fired July 11 (the dismissal was “out of the blue,” he told reporters) and he later said that he was pressured by Palin’s staff and family to get rid of Wooten, a trooper based in Palmer, Alaska.

What amazes me with the Repubs is after spending countless weeks going on and on about how inexperienced Obama is, they hail a messiah candidate who spent two years as the governor of a state with less than half the population of San Diego. The hypocrisy is priceless!

In reality, Sara Palin has more dignity and ethics in her little finger than Bill or Hillary could ever hope to accumulate in a hundred years. With Sarah Palin in the Vice President's office, the democrats have someone who is the exact opposite of D!ck Cheney. It's the very opposite thing they're all upset that Cheney is!

She won't be bending the President's ear, telling him what to do 24 hours a day.

She won't be hoarding funds and making up wars to stuff money in her pockets.

She won't be dictating public policy to send jobs overseas.

She won't be a puppet of the RIGHT!

Not only will she stand up for families, children, seniors, immigrants, blue collar, white collar, African-American, men, and women, but she WON'T be pushed around by special interests.

I think it absurdly hypocritical of ANY, true, democrat to attempt to tarnish her image after the 8 years of tail-chasing, lying, and petty vindictiveness that defined the Clinton White House.

America is ready to move on from the misguided intentions of the Bush presidency. Let's allow that to happen.

You know, if you post that same few lines enough times, eventually it might be true. Or it might still be BS. Time will tell.
