Kids are the apple of your eye.
As you listen to them laugh and cry.
You listen to there little voices.
As they learn to make choices.

They come into this world so small.
Before you know it they learn to crawl.
Then it is time for them to walk.
As they learn to talk.

Where do they come up with the things they say?
They just seem to have that special way.
They will catch you off guard.
And make you laugh so hard.

As you look at there little faces.
It makes you yearn for there embraces.
You hear there little laugh.
As they look at pictures of a giraffe.

They sit and imitate the sounds of a monkey.
Makes you wish you were that spunky.
They bring you a book to read.
When its time to go to bed.

As they fall asleep.
It makes your heart weep.
Just to have to think of the day.
It will no longer be this way.

Take the time to play with them while there small.
Before you know they will grow up tall.
Off to school they will go.
Oh how fast they do grow.

Get all the kisses and hugs.
Teach them about drugs.
Let them have plenty of fun.
When there growing is all done.

And it is time for them to part.
They will take a part of your heart.
But even in the end.
Not only are you there parent but also there friend.
