Did Jesus commit suicide?

I don't know
this will never be answered. To some it's a very legitimate question. To others it's just ridiculous that anyone could even come up with the notion of it.

"Jill" if Jesus was God only Jesus could have taken his own life ..if Jesus was not God ..then it's no dispute that Jesus's mission was to die for believers sins ..which mean he was a mortal on a suicide mission for marytrdom

either way it point to Jesus being suicidal

I don't believe it was his mission to die for his believers. However... I'm not a big believer in Jesus in the first place. ohwell

Can we base our facts of what happened at the time through the writings of the bible or could it be that for over the thousands of years the bible has been transformed to where the true story of what actually happened to Jesus is not revealed of what he did or what actually happened to him?

"smiles" that's why it should be debated from a Christian prespective ..if Christians believe Jesus is God then it has to be a reason for that even though Jesus never preached that he was part of any Holy Trinity ..I was interested in how Christians came to the conclusion that Jesus was God

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Trinity is a Christian doctrine, stating that God exists as three persons, or in the Greek hypostases, but is one being.[1][2] The persons are understood to exist as God the Father, God the Son (incarnate as Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. Since the beginning of the third century[3] the doctrine of the Trinity has been stated as "that the one God exists in three Persons and one substance, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit".[4] Trinitarianism, belief in the Trinity, is a mark of Oriental and Eastern Orthodoxy, Roman Catholicism and all the mainstream traditions arising from the Protestant Reformation, such as Anglicanism, Lutheranism and Presbyterianism; and the Oxford Dictionary of the Christian Church describes the Trinity as "the central dogma of Christian theology".[4]

This doctrine is not universally held by groups with ties to the New Testament, but is in contrast to Nontrinitarian positions which include Binitarianism (one deity/two persons), Unitarianism (one deity/one person), the Oneness belief held by certain Pentecostal groups, Modalism, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' view of the Godhead as three separate beings who are one in purpose rather than essence.

The doctrine of the Trinity was of particular importance historically. The conflict with Arianism and other competing theological concepts during the fourth century became the first major doctrinal confrontation in Church history. It had a particularly lasting effect within the Western Roman Empire where the Germanic Arians and the Nicene Christians formed segregated social orders.

I'm quite familiar with the formal doctrine. But all that says is that "person" is something different from "being", with no definition as to what the differences are. Which leads to the perfectly justifiable conclusion that god suffers from multiple personality disorder.

Actually though, I was just baiting you. This particular doctrine has been hashed out for hudreds of years by scholars who have made it their life's work. So I never expected it to be resolved here.

Thanks for taking the bait though, and I hope the interchange didn't upset you.

Peace flowerforyou

Jesus's mission was to show believers that there was life after death with God ..not sure how he could have done that without "finding a way" to die to do it
