You picked me up again today
Just before I lost balance and fell on my face
A muse once dying now sings songs of happiness
You my friend, are everything to me
Completely at ease I can open up to you
No longer hopeless and lost
I remember how to smile, even laugh once in awhile
Sometimes I long to be in your arms
To know your heart is mine
To realize this time I wouldn't be hurt
Yet something holds me back
Fear tickles the edges of my soul
The reasons though are unclear
I swore to him I'd never love another man
I'd never let them that close
Until there was you I kept my word
But now...
I'm not so sure that's what I want
Without a doubt I know love has once again started to grow
Uncertainty faded into the shadows of night
“How does one know love?”
That was the question of the night
My best friend turned to me with no emotion in her eyes
“How would you feel if he just suddenly walked away?”
My heart felt as though lightening had just struck
The world before me became blurred by tears
I could not bare even the thought
My heart has been unlocked
