The Road

The road we travel is long
Full of danger
Winding twisting turns
Ups and downs

Along the way
Have you ever stopped to rest
Lied in a new spring meadow
Or help a damsel in distress

Have you slowed to share the road
And all it’s sights and glory
With thou’s who you take
Along your journey

I lived in the fast lane
Wanting only more horse power
I never stopped
To pick a flower


The rear view mirror
Haunts me now
All that could have been
All that should have been

And now I go alone
So far, far away from home
The bridges are burned
There’s no going back

The road we travel is long
I wish I traveled slow

May she find happiness
Where ever hers may go
