Not in my opinion. Breaking up is breaking up. Taking a break is spending less time together.

I think it all depends on what the break is for. If it's to get your head straight so you can give 100% where you have not been able to before, then a break can be the healthiest thing for your relationship...then again, if it's to see what else is out there, then it's just an excuse to run around on your partner and be able to say, "we were on a break" if caught.
I'm sure there are a lot of scenarios between those two extremes...but my breaks have always been to get my act together without the pressure from my partner clouding the issues I need to deal with. |
