This may sound corny
it may be boring
but don't listen
only to the words you hear
go deeper,to a place you fear
go below the surface
travel down forgotten roads
see things you never saw before
that is all I implore
-cause when you look inside
/you see it all
/all you wanted to hide
/but, you're only hiding from yourself
/noone else
-the eyes are a window to the soul
when you look in there
you'll find a side of you thats softer
you'll see what you really have to offer
you'll understand that you can be someone
that you can make a difference
in the life of someone else
don't try to be something that you're not
he who stands on tippy toe
doesn't stand firm
the point that I'm making
is quit with the faking
be true to yourself
quit putting yourself through hell
learn to love yourself as well
see the beauty of life
all there is to discover
so much to uncover
find out whats important
nothing in life's worth abortin'
the life that was given to you
-I think we all need to look inside
/get to know ourselves
/meet somebody new
/somebody in you
-when you look inside.

I know it isnt the most perfectly rhyming poem, but the point still remains.
It is hard to look at all the ****ty stuff that we try to hide from the world, but truth be told, eventually the truth will prevail, in some shape, form or fashion...so why not "air out the dirty laundry" and get rid of all the dirt?
trust me on this....i used to be a pretty "dirty" guy in many aspects, until i sit down with myself and had a serious "heart to heart with myself...after i was done it felt like a massive weight was lifted off my shoulders.

Do what you want in your life....as for me, I am keeping one eye looking in, to keep everything as clean as is within my power.

Thank you for the posts.
I let very few people I know read them...I guess, since most of what I write turns out to be things that aren't about the bright side of life...
My intentions with everything I write, is to be mind opening, for those who think noone else can understand what they are going through, and with hope, to get people to see that there is a good side to life, and negitive things are, in a way, put in our lives to make us appricieate the good aspects...After all, if there was nothing bad that ever happened, we would not know the difference, and we would take for granted the things which are not.

Alot of my "poetry", if I may be so bold as to call it that, is writing that I do, based on the emotion I feel coming from other people.
And some is of how I, myself, have felt, or something that i went through.

Alot of times, i don't know how to put something into words, "on the spot", and my wrtiting allows me to express that which, otherwise, I may have never had a chance to share...though some people will probably never see what I write, I feel that writing it out, helps me come to terms almost as if they would see them.

I will probably put more on here, though I don't know which ones would be liked the most....push come to shove, I don't care if most of them are liked or not, since it is, for the most part, only me who will see them.
That is not to say I don't want people to like them.

Well, I have written a novel now, so, I will close this out...more poems will be posted.

Writing and lyrics to songs,.. all of that does make sense to people because we do share many of the same kinds of experience but lose sight of the fact that we are not alone in our reactions to those experiences. Often, borrowed wisdom is enough to remind us. Well done!
