I'm just 10 miles north of San Francisco.

Thanks for the welcome. I've mostly been hanging in the Religious Chat forum. But it's getting a little slow there lately. So I cruised over here to the 50+ forum to see what kind of trouble I could stir up. This thread was tailor made for what I felt like getting into at the time. And ity's certainly been fun! laugh

I saw Sideways once. Don't remember it very well but do remember I really liked it - partly becasue I've done that wine tour up and down Highway 29 through Napa Valley. And gotten completely ****faced in the process! I honestly think that Highway 29 southbound out of Napa at 6:00pm on a Saturday in the summer has the highest concentration of drunk drivers anywhere/time in the world. laugh

I thank you for replying. I laughed so hard at that movie. There is a scene where the main actor was so mad that they won't give him the drink that he wants that he drinks from the winespit bowl. Then the other guy and his women chasing exploits. Guess it was the buddy aspect of it and the humor that appealed to me so much.

It also was beautiful scenery! Glad you told us about the drivers!!

Cheers!

Ok, I'm busted. oops blushing
I don't want to give a bad name to the place based on my own misguided attempt at humor. (That sometimes-twisted sense of humor of mine will be the death of me!)

I confess there probably aren't that many drunk people actually driving. You see a lot of busses and vans in the winery parking lots, so I assume most of them have designated drivers. Personally, every time I've done that tour I've been a passenger not a driver.

Been to LA, San Fran, and Napa Valley.
I assume you did the winery tour in Napa? That's one of my all-time favorite getaways. Did you take the "Wine Tasting Train"?
We did our own tour. It was a family vacation. Had 2 kids with me. It was VERY hot. Didn't spend a lot of time there. It was on our way from San Fran north and then inland.
Ah, ok. Yeah, you can't really do a proper wine tasting thing with kids along. Was L.A. part of the same trip?

nah LA was a different trip. work related. Played the organ at Crystal Cathedral and went to amusment parks.
Then you must have done Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm and/or Magic Mountain. I went to grammar school just a few miles from both Knotts Berry Farm and Disneyland. They've both changed a lot since then.

Disneyland and Universal Studios

I thought the best part in that movie was when she found out he was getting married. I watch Greys anatomy because she is in it

Oh carold, yes the scene with Sandra Oh...
What about when the naked man is chasing them down for retrieving his billfold. And the scene faking a caar accident so he can explain his being late for wedding activities..

I howled at that movie...

I think the only other one that I had to see a couple more times was LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE...
Great scenes....I like those disfunctional families...makes me glad I had the one I have.
