Do you believe that when you are in a relationship with someone, that they should tell you everything about thier past?Or do you believe that some things should be left alone?

I personally am very open and honest, good and bad. I'd like my partner to be the same way. I do understand though that there are some things for some folks, just better left unsaid.

It depends on the situation. But I don't think someone should be faulted for holding something back if they didn't feel comfortable sharing it.

As long as it does not hurt what proceeds within the future some things are better left in the past. Why dig up every little thing a person did in the past as long as it will not do you or them any harm in the future. JMO

I don't like secrets and don't keep em. I would prefer to be with someone who felt (eventually) that they could trust with me anything.

There are things I don't want to know. If it is pertinent to our current situation then maybe.

I believe that honesty is always the best policy. If you leave out certain things in your relationship,it may seem that it is the right thing to do,but if you are completely honest in all aspects of your life with someone who is better than you if that person accepts you as you are. There will be no fear of any surprises in the future. How beautiful a relationship is that to be totally accepted as you are with all your good and bad points!

I think whatever a partner wants to share is fine with me. Whatever past the person would feel comfortable sharing or feels the need to talk about is what having a listening partner is all about. Feeling safe enough to share things with ones partner is so important!

They can tell me whatever they're comfortable telling me. I wouldn't hold anything against a person who didn't want to tell me about their past.
