Oh I do, my favorite show is The Closer and just started watching The Cleaner, with CSI in a close 3rd place.

I just started recording the Cleaner, not seen it yet. I've been a Law & Order fan for 15 years.

I meant the documentaries though.... Bill Kurtis is my friend... such a soothing voice.

I can fall asleep to his voice, even if he is talking about dismemberment or rape..... I love Bill Kurtis's voice.

Lilith last question re: law.

there are places that use private security to protect their tenants/grounds etc.

how come they can have as much authority as regular city cops?

Hmmm. I was not at all aware that they did. Here in Ohio, I do not believe they do. For example... cops can't ticket you for speeding in a parking lot on private property. But I've never seen private security try to sanction people here.

That one, I can't answer.

I'm a Correctional Officer. The right to a speedy trial depends on the amount of cases before yours and the gravity of the offense. How much evidence is required by both sides etc.
As far as how long someone can be jailed before trial, Most defendants are given a price for bail. If they can make it, Thay can be free until trial. Again it depends on the gravity of the offense and or if they're a flight risk.
