At what age do you think kids learn to be nice to other people/animals? Recently a 2 1/2 yr old near my house put a little dog in a cooler and didn't let it out...Suffice to say...not a good ending for the dogs owners. He hits animals with stuff. He's kicked a 1 yr old girl in the stomach for no reason. My son is nothing like this so I have no advice for the lady babysitting this little boy. About all I could say is I wouldn't let him in my house for fear of him hurting the 1 yr old.

Injuring/killing animals is one of the signs of a budding young sociopath.......or future serial killer. Not joking.

Sounds like the child's parents could benefit from some of this too.

I was just talking about this very thing with my friend today, her friend has a son (now 9) and at the age of 5 killed my friends cat and pulled all the fur off of a guinnie(sp?)pig, has drawn pics of his mom and dad in a bed engulfed in flames... The family is a very loving family, so he did not learn it from them. (I have met them) the kid is mentally insane.

I think for the most part though, kids act what they see.

I was shocked when told this. I know he's only
2 1/2, but so is my son. Needless tosay that boy can't come over and play anymore. Not here..No where near my son.

The kid also kept telling the babysitter " I put doggy in cooler. Now he's dead." so he totally gets what happened.

A 2 1/2 year old doesn't understand death though...so I doubt he understands his actions.

They really dont know what "death" means.. I'm sure he's seen some of this behavior on television, movies etc.. they can't totally comprehend at this age.. What they see on TV/Movies..they don't know are "fictional".
