this should not be a question with regard a nation.
religion is a personal choice which starts with the family, but at the very end the individual is the one who decides secularism or religion.
as far as the government is concern, its only responsability is to guarantee all the liberties for each individual to practice his/her beliefs with all freedom. As long as he or she doesn't impose his/her beliefs to others who don't wish so.

?
why or why not?

If you mean the 'state' of the USA (government, federal and states), it has never been other than secular since the founding of the nation.

Are you suggesting that the USA scratch the first amendment of its constitution, and adopt a 'ONE' religion state status??!?!? A bit like Iran for example!?!?!?

I'm puzzled?!?!

Correct wouldee...let's not forget how quiet people are being about Russia's attack on Georgia.

So much for help for humanity at the UN with Russia & China dirty dealings. Americans believe the lie that it's all "America's" fault. It's pretty sad when Americans want to bash their own country for right decisions that HELP our nation & not hurt it. Yes...China & Russia & the mid east make decisions too...but according to some...let's not go there because the left in this nation & around the world have no backbone to do anything about it.
