everything is a lie...either their photos or their words...and when you meet them all they want is sex and then for get about you...

I would rather show a photo to a person I can feel comfortable with...
And from your stand point you think that guys just want one night stands. Either I want it, or I don't.
If I want it I'm willing to go out and to make sure I want it .

I am guilty. If I don't find them attractive or decent looking. I might talk to them. But I wouldn't want to date them.
the problem with picking people for their looks is that you don't necessarily end up with the best people. You can find yourself continually dating a string of losers and cheaters if you go by looks alone.

Although, my experience on dating sites in general has been that it is a photo alone that draws the most men in.

I have gotten much more attention without a real pic than if I had a picture of myself posted there. Of course, once I send them my photo I never hear from them again.

I did an experiment once on another site where I posted my same profile but with a picture of an attractive women (ie,not me).

It got 1000X more e-mail than my real pic.

So I really don't want to date any of these people, yanno?

It's just the reality of the situation. But, that's why I enjoy these forums. It's a chance to get know people a little which is more important to me than how they look. Looks matter.......you have to be attracted to someone to want to be with them. But, like I've said several times before, the more you like someone the more attractive they will become to you.

they don't need to know. I am here to make friends. I meet them in the forums and then via e-mail.

Oh, that's a sad attitude! Maybe I'm naive but I prefer to trust people to be honest first...guess that's my rose-colored glasses.

Then you can weed through the BS as you go along, as necessary.

I don't go by just a picture. There has to be more.

It's really sad not to just be who you are as it always leads to so many misunderstandingglasses

It is very sad that people feel that they have to make up the person that they are. I feel like these people are obviously not comfortable in who they are.

says the person with a beach for their profile picture?

No I look at what they have to say on their profile

same here, but I also go with gut feelings sometimes.

I don't think she is pretending to be that beach, though.
