Topic: Anyone else gone "TV Free" ? | |
---|---|
A year ago, I found myself unexpectedly looking for a new place to live,
and wound up in a "less than ideal" location. No cable TV, and I didnt have a TV set either. Oddly, I didnt think to buy a TV. Friends offered me their old sets, and I said 'nah, no thanks...'. A year's gone by with no TV and I'm thinking I havn't missed anything. If I want to watch a movie, I usually watch it on the laptop. Occasionally I'll put it on the digital projector for me & the roomates to watch. Anybody else gone cold-turkey? or am I just a nut? |

Mike, I couldn't do it. I almost never watch TV, but it's almost always
on for the background noise. Hey, I'm entitled to ONE vapid addiction.... |

I have a daughter so, cartoons are always on. I must admit though, I
dig TV as well. Fav shows...24, My name is Earl, Prison Break, Discovery Channel, History, National Geographic, etc...action, fun & learnin'! Went 2 years without it a few years back. Didn't really miss much. |

I went cold turkey a while back. And since then i've had months here
and there both with (due to roommates) and without. Thing is, though, whether i have tv or not, i'm usually going to do -something- that lets my mind go numb for a while each day. On the whole, life is more enjoyable and productive without a tv. |

No cable or dish or TV watching here for the last year or more. We are
not missing any thing. The cartoons are getting sick to the point my kid was grossed out. I cut the cable connection. I got a high speed internet connection and an Xbox, "interactive TV" once in a while when we cant get out. Nope...... I dont miss that mess a bit. |
