Hello I just signed up and I'm checking out the place and making myself at home, nice to meet you all. But while I'm here I do have a question. As I was reading the intro email I got I noticed in I think it was the second paragraph down that said somthing like beware of people who offer you their email,IM information etc. on the first email as could be a possiable scammer. I've recently offered my IM info to a person who emailed on the first email, but I'm not a scammer I swear! And yes I know it was written as protective measure which is very wise of course, which now brings me to my question. Does anyone have any suggestions as to when it appropriate to offer email, IM, or phone info when you first meet someone through email? Any suggestions as to the ettiquite in this situation? I normally try to use common sense. But I'm just curious as to what you all might have to say. Thanks.

Welcome to the crazy train!!! drinker

If you are new to this, just don't be capricious about who you give your info to. There are more nice folks than scammers, but as long as you are savvy enough not to give into bleeding heart stories, you'll be fine.

I MUST WARN YOU: There are people who will IM you, say on Yahoo, and they'll say they saw you here. NOT!!!

I don't feel there's a correct given time frame for this..

I believe it's up to the two people having the conversation to decide when they feel comfortable in doing so.. whether it be to exchange messenger ID's or telephone numbers ::shrug::

Welcome by the way! flowerforyou
