Nothing like making women feel special, being "purchased" and shopped for!!! I know there are circumstances that cause these situations to exist, but it's rather arcane stuff.

wow ladies, granted you vehemently disagree, however, mail order brides have been around for years and there have been many successful matches made along the way.

To each their own, I dont happen to agree with this practice, but to each their own.

So long as both parties enter into this contract in full agreement, wish them luck is what I say.

Gosh, and I know I'm low maintenance and have worked since I was 13. If I recall, it was both my ex-husbands who HAD to have the expensive toys!!!!

I used to manage a Staples, and there was a very weAlthy business man that would come in and get things for his business and get copy work done, his mail order bride was nothing more than a lap dog for him. He offered to take me out on more than one occasion along with other girls that worked ther... We thought he was the skeeziest man that walked into that place. He had sucha self entitled demeanor to him...

I tried to talk to her once "hi, how are you today" kinda thing, she smiled (didn't speak much english) and he said to me "don't talk to her, it's not worth your time, she doesn't understand what you are saying" Her facial expression changed back to a staunch stare...She understood what he was saying.

I'm sure that's not always the case, but it makes my skin crawl to think this goes on... ICKY.

My brother is a mormon and lives in Utah, so I have a in there.

What makes you think they would be un happy

I was approached by an overseas woman on here a couple of days ago. She seems very sincere, however, I do have my concerns. I will be VERY cautious as I discover more about her, for sure.

I think the term "mail order bride" is a bit mis-applied in some cases. Just because a person meets a potential mate from overseas doesn't mean one is paying thousands of dollars out to some agency to get a marital partner.

As I look at it, being with a woman from overseas is similar to meeting a woman who lives in another state. People are the same all over the world, albeit cultural differences.

Technologies such as planes and computers make it easy now. As with any relationship, there is always the risk of being deceived. That's a given and one must be wary of that risk.

this must be something some people--dis-agree with. and, this must be something some people like doing. (guess, it's worth a look see.)
