Why is it if you email someone just to say "hi" they automatically think you want to marry them and don't say anything to you? What if you just thought they seemed like they'd be cool to talk to and was hoping to make a friend? Do people NOT realize that you can see when someone has read your email on here? I know I personally am usually a bit slow to reply. I read messages in the morning, then reply when I get home if the person is online. I tend to wait til I see them online to respond, just for quicker response. I try really hard to not forget anyone, but if I'm actually online when they send the message I oblige by saying "hello". Is that such a freakin hard word to type???
HELLO!!!! Nope! Not that hard!!

It depends on the context of a given message. If it's from the matchmaking thread, I'm not here for that. Feral is awesome and I love what she does but I have told her through direct email that's not why I'm here. I could give you different examples of things people have sent to me but it really serves no purpose except to single people out. Making generalizations about "Men always..." -that doesn't serve any purpose I can see except to vent anger. If you want to focus that in my direction, feel free, but you won't see any reprisal or generalzed statements about anyone in my postings. I can live with that....flowerforyou

I can share an experience, I hope this helps. I recieved an email from a lady who seemed very nice at first and I wrote to her explaining that I'm not looking. She then sent a very nasty reply which I ignored. This was followed by an even nastier one- at which point I hit the block button. My point: sometimes people won't take no for an answer, and no answer at all, while rude, at least doesn't invite this kind of problem.

Why did you write back explaining that you're not looking? Did she state upfront that she was interested in starting something?

LOL, I was so thinking the same thing. Why do men assume that if we say hello to them, we somehow are seeing a wedding ring?

I email people for all kinds of reasons. Most are not because I'm interested in anything more than being friends.
