Topic: Water Bill Total Panic | |
---|---|
I got the final bill on my water. They say I owe 2460.52 Dollars. It has to be a misreading.
They say since the bills were estimated over the past 10 months, they underestimated that much. I haven't been in the house the past two months. Do to an error, they forgot to finish submiting the work-order for my final bill. Should have been mid June. So they are saying it should have been 200 higher a month. Only it is really 8 months. So the water should have been 250 higher a month. Only I lived alone. A few loads of laundry, a few load of dishes. Short showers to try to save money. I never watered the lawn. So how could I use 966,416 gallons more than they thought I used....... Can I just kill myself now.....?????? |

I hate to say it but just complain and ask to speak to a manager and you can get that reduced....but sounds like an error anyway

that is a lot of money. since I have been reading meters, our water department hasn't estimated. that is the reason why I atleast frown upon it. 10 months is far to long to estimate.

In a downtown apartment now. No yards.
This was a final bill. I think they misread it. It is the dial kind. |

My ex father in law received an estimated bill once.. he solved that problem quickly.. he called them up and said: "You estimate my bill.. I guess I will estimate how much I will pay you"

I usually just lived with the estimates. Every few months I got a credit since they always over estimated. They always wanted to read the meter in a four hour block when I was working. They don't have very good times.
The thing is, they are supposed to leave a card so I can read it myself. But they never do. |

Go down and straighten it out.sounds like a clerical error. If you wait to long it will be assumed you accept it.
