Went to the mall for the day with the troops...and my 19 yr old daughter was getting her ears pierced...so my 10 yr old decided he wanted his done. My neighbor thought I was crazy and should have waited until he was older. It's not that big of a deal to me. It is his choice. Anyone think I'm wrong?

Your cool. There are other things you will say no to. But you'll have his respect when you do.

No you are not. My son is 21 now and when he was 10 had his ear pierced, funny thing is he no longer has it pierced. It's not that big of a deal, now if he wanted a tatoo that might be a little different

if you don't have a problem with it, it is no one else's business. 10 is old enough.

If it's not permanent, no harm done, imo. There's so many bigger issues to deal with as a parent, right?! I think the whole ear piercing on males is seen in a much different light now than it was when I was growing up anyway.

My son wasn't even that old when he had his done. His looked really cool with his pony tail in back, he had bangs in front. He is 21 now and doesn't wear his anymore either. It's more then likely just a phase, if it is he'll get over it. If not, who cares, all the guys do it now.

All I can say is to each there own. I don't have a problem with what you let your son do that is your choice the way you raise your kids.

Myself I did not allow my son to get any piercings or any tattoo's till he turned 18 had graduated had a job and could pay for them himself. Then he had clear grounds to do with his body as he choose.

He always asked me why I told him that at least it would give him time to really think things through before he did it.

My 13 yo just got a nose ring. Piercings are the current rage. MY problem is now her friends think she is their own private piercing technician. I had to explain why it is NOT cool that she pierced her bff's cartiledge. sp? Yeah, parenting is a forever changing landscape.
