Fundie or fundy (plural fundies) is a pejorative slang term used to refer to religious fundamentalists of any denomination, although it is primarily directed towards fundamentalist Christians. The term is intentionally derogatory, and is used most commonly by those opposed to the Christian Right movement. The term is often associated with religiously motivated conservative moral beliefs, especially those regarding social issues.

Pejorative? What does that mean?

pejorative (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary)

having negative connotations; especially : tending to disparage or belittle

So if I were to call someone a fundie, it would be an attempt to disparage or belittle the person based upon his or her religion.

If a person is seeking to be insulted, they can always find a way to achieve that. flowerforyou

That's true, but it does not negate the fact that insults exist.

Let me tell you a story. A man was admitted to a psychiatric ward, because he claimed he was breaking walls in his condo building looking for a cat. He was diagnoses as having delusions by doctors. Four days later, he was released when the doctors found out he was telling the truth, a cat was trapped in the walls of the condo.

Just because you think someone is crazy, doesn't mean it's true. Sometimes, we aren't aware of all the facts and make a judgement without knowing what we are judging.

When someone claims that I hate Jesus and God, I know beyond any shadow of a doubt that they are having delusions. flowerforyou

Do you know beyond a shadow of a doubt what I meant by "hate"? Have you read the Bible? Have you read that God said he hated "Esau" and researched it so that you found that the meaning of the word was "dislike"? You dislike the Christian presentation of Jesus and God, you have said so yourself. It was a personal email from one Christian to another, I assumed that TLW would understand how I meant "hate", I didn't expect anyone else to know or read the email. Let's just drop it, okay?

You have an excellent command of the English language.
Miguel has it as his 2nd or even 3rd language.

Why would you assume that he would understand the word hate, when you actually meant the word dislike?

I try not to use the word "hate."

I don't think people should assume I "hate" Jesus or God just because I am not a Christian and don't believe what Christians believe.

WOW! This is happening more & more. No wonder this world is so crazy.

The only stability for people is faith in God & many want to ruin even that for humanity. Jesus warned Woe to those who destroy another's faith in God...it's better if they tied a milestone around their neck & throw it into the sea.

People destroy their own faith in God with their thoughts. Aside from trauma based mind control, people can decide for themselves.

But loss of a dogmatic religious concept does not spell the lost of your faith in God. God has no religion. God just is.
