The way to my heart is honesty. The ability to open up and share themselves (vice versa). Mutual respect. And a wonderful sense of humor. No Ben Stein for me! They have to have personality. AS I have said before...next time you find yourself in Michigan.... LOL |

....what is the quickest way to a woman's heart. They say the quickest way to a man's heart is through his stomach, but I have never heard a saying like that for women. |

Unfortunately, too often, that " bonus " actually winds up becoming the biggest part. Not to all. But definitely to most. If a guy can't make a woman feel " financially secure " then eventually, all the other good things are put to the side. |

If a guy can't make a woman feel " financially secure " then eventually, all the other good things are put to the side. "financially secure" and "fat wallet" are two different things...to me anyway To me, they are pretty much the same thing. no they're not...paying your bills and taking care of your responsibilities with what you have is financially secure, not fat wallet Ummm...I take care of what I have to, and I usually have a little left over....but there will definitely be no retirement plan for me....that's definitely not " financially secure ". lol |

I think my 'wish list' has definitely changed with age, maturity and experience. The things that seemed oh-so-important in my 20's don't even register anymore.
One thing I realize now that would mean the world to me is to have a man who is ready to defend my honour at every turn -- who's not afraid to speak up when a family member or friend makes a callous remark, even in jest, that is slightly derogatory. I can't stand to hear men belittle their SO's (or vice versa) for the sake of a laugh, to me it undermines the entire relationship. I guess this falls under respect, but it's something I have my eyes and ears wide open to at this stage in my life. |

I guess this falls under respect, but it's something I have my eyes and ears wide open to at this stage in my life. Hmmm...now this one is kinda tough for me. The thing is, my family, when we get together, takes great delight in throwing insults around at each other. It's all in good fun, and it's just the way we are. The woman I am with would have to be able to dish it out as well as be able to take it without getting offended because with my family, that's just the way it is. It isn't a lack of respect, just a way to welcome someone to the family. I know. It sounds odd, but you would have to know my Dad and brothers and sister to really understand it. I think you would go into shock because of some of the things my family says to each other. Meanwhile, we would all be rolling on the ground, unable to breathe and unable to stop laughing. |
