I had this happen once where I was the friend in the situation. My bestfriend Jake had this girlfriend who hated me for no good reason except that she was threatened by me. I got a phone call from him saying he could not be my friend anymore and I proceeded to call him some lovely names and hung up. Half hour later he calls back saying they broke up.

WoW!!! As I would hope my Significant Other would at least respect my best friend,, I however yes,, would like to have both and eat my cake too... So I would explain to both involved that the Love I have for them yes is different, But would not want either of them out of my life,,, So I would plan Her and me time only for us,,, Her friendship means the world to me and if both were truely acting like mature adults maybe we could find a common ground,, where is I do live with my Significant other so I am always there,,,

No one thinks that boyfriends/girlfriends come and go but friends are forever? That a poor way to look at starting a healthy relationship. Your friends know you. You are tring to get to know the person your with. If friends are forever, then they will give your relationship a chance. Once the person your dating gets to know you, they will do what makes you happy. If that means put up with your friends they will. You will just have to control the situations you put them in.
