you first...so I can copy off you 1) If I could go back to my childhood and undo my mistakes I would, but that doesn't change the promise that you made but didn't follow through on. I hope, just once, it has crossed your mind to say a silent apology to me. 2) Yours is a fate that is more subject to your whim than you realize. I'm sorry if I haven't been the example you needed to make your life only slightly better than the one you were dealt. I'm sorry I ever left you. I'm sorry I strive for better and I ask for more but I assure you that it was only to share the profit with you. I hope you find love and security and peace but I'm not sure I can be a part of your life until you understand that these things are worth fighting for. Family is and always will be your only constant. 3) I thank God everyday for the love you gave to me. You saved my life before I knew it needed saving. Every day I live with the hope of make you proud. I will love you for the rest of my days and should we ever meet again I promise to not let you go for even a minute. 4) I wish we were closer. I don't know when this wedge came between us but it is a constant ache that leaves me with the fear of a child. I worry about your health. I worry that I will never be able to have an honest conversation with you. I regret not understanding where you were coming from for so many years. I resent the sacrifices you made. I wish you were stronger. I wish you had your mother. I wish I knew your mother. I wish you knew how amazing you can be and I wish you were strong enough to demand what you deserve. 5) I have an immeasurable respect for your contribution but I wish you had more compassion. I'm waiting for the day that you can't turn on a dime. I want you to quit drinking. I'm sorry I didn't recognize what it took to be you.
