I can't live without my tunes, especially in my car. If I'm on a long
trip I need something hard, heavy and fast to keep me awake while I
drive. Same thing when I come home from work, I'm tired but got plans to
go out, I crank up some Iron Maiden or some good thrash to energize me
and get my blood pumping..Now if I'm performing, that's a whole
different story. It's a fantastic emotional release, especially for
getting rid of negative emotions.
I find if you can shut down the noise in yer head and get into the music
when yer listening to it it can actually alter yer mood.

Music expresses our every feeling in life and is a description of who we
are as a person. I love music because it brings so much meaning to a
persons life. When we are upset or full of joy, when we are making love
or when we are just experiencing our first kiss. It brings back lots of
good times as well as bad and can make us have a different point of view
of how life is.

Well, I just wanna start off by saying that I like all forms of music
within the english language, within which I can understand lyrically.
But, if it starts off with a growl and I can't understand you, then I
don't even bother listening to you.If you've got a good tune and a good
beat to your song, then I'll listen to you. Might not know what you're
sayin',but I like what you're producing musically. Now myself, I enjoy
rap music, depending on who it's by. Rap, in general, can be annoying,
but any other music can be annoying, as well. For instance, the liquid
metal music is, to me, very annoying. All that damn growling and
speaking in tongues really gets on my last nerve. Same thing with music
from another language; it's very annoying and all of it sounds the same,
very much like circus or carnival music. I hear it all the time and
there's just no escaping it, so I turn my music up a notch to drown that
music out. Rap, too. I don't get into Twista because I can't understand
what he's sayin'. I don't get into Tool, either, because I don't know
what the singer is sayin' in the mic.I try to tune my ears in to hear
and understand, but I just can't.
You see..... rap, metal, nu-metal, country, all forms of music, have
two common bonds: they ALL evolved from poetry, as far as the lyrics.
Rap is no different from country as is bluegrass is no different rock
and roll as a genre and different people enjoy a certain type of genre.
Every group or solo artist have a different sound and style, but their
lyrics come from poetry. You might argue that point, but it's a fact
that when the artist writes a song, they're writing about an exprience
they've had at some point in their lives and how it made them feel then
or how it makes them feel now. If you're happy about meeting somebody,
you write about it; well, some of us write about it. If you're pissed
off at the world, if you're supporting a cause or someone, you tell
people about it. Whether they listen or not is their choice, but at
least you're letting your voice be heard.Somebody will, eventually, hear
you and like what you have to say and if they like what you write, then
they're a fan. So, my point is music, in itself, is your way of saying
to people , without sayin' a word, what your mood is, depending on what
your got in the cd player. Let's not be judgemental and say that that
kind of music, whatever it may be, is not art. That is, merely, an
opinion that can be expressed however you want. But, there's a certain
way to go about it when you express it. In my opinion, smooth jazz is the
most soothing music you could ever hear. It's , also, good sex music,
depending on what song comes on.

I can go from Classic rock to Alternative and Classic music to some pop
even. And yes it depends on my mood. Like right now I'm having a beer so
I can handle something heavy metal and it wont give me a head ach. But I
may have a head ach in the morning. LOL
