So let's say that two people who met online met in person
And right when the guy saw the girl, he tried to kiss her but she turned away
And then when he was leaving he tried again, and she turned away again
But she has emailed him and he responded, very briefly
But they haven't had any other communication going on
Would one be able to assume that his ego was hurt, and that's the reason he no longer emails her?

Not necessaeily, lately people (guys and girls) are A) dating a lot and B) very busy in general. That would be an alarm bell, but give it some time, see what he does and does not do, and if he and you dont click, at least it is a short investment...

Screw 'em...quite honestly first dates you never try and kiss, it just happens...if it doesn't then you keep up the dates until that moment happens, it is much better with anticipation. I don't try and kiss anytime, usually it is just a mutual decision but I would hope she would be as much wanting too as I did or vice versa.

My guess would be yes. However what gave him the right to assume that he could kiss the girl, when they were just meeting?

Some people move faster than others, this does not make them worse than their counterparts, maybe he read her wrong... I more than kiss on the first date, however I do not EXPECT to...
He may have simply read her signals wrong, he may be a more aggressive type, or he simply may be a douche, but just based on the info given I would want to know more... in lieu of that, it is simply a misread at best.

Well...there are deifnitely mixed opinions about that
My sister thinks it shows he's a gentleman, whereas I feel it is a turn off because it ruins spontaneity
