Mark 10:13-16

The Little Children and Jesus

13People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." 16And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.

Jesus never wanted the children to stop coming to him....because of their openness and their true hearts for him......If only more people could look at it through a child's eyes. We just had all the kids comes back from Kid's Camp....One story in particular stood out to me. One lil boy of came from L.A. from a broken hard hard life. He was tough the first 3 days would not get into anything or talk to anyone. Wednesday night as the leaders were ready to speak...One in particular Mike...said the Lord spoke so clearly and told him to go away....He did as the Lord asked and the tears just poured as he saw the Lord's spirit take over the room.....He noticed the lil boy who would have nothing to do with anyone come to his counselor and he was crying so hard. He said Mr. Arnold I don't know what's going on and I just feel the love and I can't stop crying Mr. Arnold.....The Lord was working that room big time. What a true blessing that is......If only all could look and live in this world through the children....and their eyes.

Yes I can surly see what you are saying but this is different. I know for me when the Lord so plants himself in my heart....I can be happy as a clam and I am not crying per say but the tears are flowing like a river down my cheeks...I know this is the Lord because it's not a controllable situation. And when it happens.....I have no bad things in my life....and I surly know the difference when I am praying for myself or others with difficulties and the difference with how the Lord touches me. It's something that is pretty hard to explain but ohhhhh so so felt. This is why I am the way I am when it's comes to the Lord...because I know with every fiber of my being He is in my life.....

Ahemmm..........early on Jesus himself used the strength and wisdom of women to preach his word. He used women to communicate and show His way. He used women to stop a war. He used women to teach. Women were the only ones left at His side at the cross. Women are the ones that didn't run when the skys went black and the storms ran across the sky.Women followed Him throughout His history, even to His death. Jesus repeatedly turned to women to show His love, His mercy, His salvation. Does that sound like Jesus (God) had no dependence towards women to send out His message??

Kat

In all honesty Kat, this just sounds to me like Jesus had absolutely nothing in common with the God of Abraham.

For someone who was supposed to be the God of Abraham he sure didn't seem to support the same ideals.

Jesus taught to turn the other cheek. But the God of Abraham taught an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.

In Jesus' day the Jews were still stoning sinners to death supposedly (via the directive given to them by the God of Abraham). But Jesus didn't seem to approve of that act. So again we see a huge difference in persona.

Now you're pointing out the fact that Jesus viewed and treated women differently than the God of Abraham did in the Old Testament.

Just more reason for me to believe that they weren't the same persona.

I mean, I'm not trying to be argumentative. But why is it that everything seems to always contradict itself in this book that is supposed to be from an all-wise un-changing creator?

Just sounds like mixed-messages to me. Who are we supposed to believe? Jesus? Or the God of Abraham? Clearly they don't support the same philosophies.

Why would an all-wise creator send mankind a self-inconsistent book that sends mixed messages?

For me, that alone is a huge problem.

A book that is supposed to be from an unchanging God but it keeps changing what it wants from us. That's a mixed message right there.

Jehovah brought about the law....

Jesus...the fulfillment of the law.

Everything God does is for our benefit...we have to catch up to Him. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice ...atonement for sin.

It's not a mixed message ...except to the carnal intellect that is. It won't make sense unless it's God breathed into us.

Why can't people see that the same resurrection power that raised Christ from the dead will also quicken our mortal bodies!!! THEN we will know the mind OF GOD.

who that declare themself to have the SIGHT OF GOD, is not as one that walk into a room of others and say 'I AM WISE" ???????????????????????

who that declare themself to be wise can have any wisdom??????????????????????

who that declare themself to be a speaker for god should be believed???????????????????

who that declare all others as blind do not see their truth blinded themself????????????????????????

who that declare their own faith as the only one truth or damnation ensues for all, has any different spirit than a terrorist, that even kill for his "reward" and "self saving"??????????????

will these questions EVER be answered by ANY that profess one religion as truth, because to answer with honesty one would have to forsake such blind notions that all are blind except oneself.........peace

No human can speak for another human, nor will they understand the words perfectly. No human is wise, at most they have degrees of intellegence - intellegence is not wisdom nor will it ever be. Knowledge is only that which the intellect has learned and has put to the test to see if its true or not. No one is blind, but all see differently - some more blurred than others. We have no right to condemn those that speak without condeming ourselves in the process, we have no right to point out wisdom or lack there of in someone until we ourselves are wise. we have no right to discuss anything with out an open heart to accept others where they are - or else it will lead to calamity. Let those who beleive in their god believe in their god, and those who donot go on their way. This petty quarrels over who is right or wrong holds no value.
